It is 2025.
All over America, people laugh more often, smile more often, sing more often, and sleep soundly.
We are meeting the basic needs of all living things on the planet, creating life in every community without making life harder or even impossible in others.
In communities across America, babies are healthier and people are living longer, happier lives.
We drink clean water and eat tasty, nutritious food.
We breathe air that smells sweet and is colored only by sunsets and sunrises.
The sun bestows its abundant energy to us in comfortable homes that bring shelter from cold, heat, rain, wind.
In 2025, the global economic bust of 2009 has evolved into an economic American Green Bloom.
The United States leads a new world economy that delivers prosperity without depriving other animals and plants of places to live and thrive, and without wasting land, polluting air or fouling water.
Economies all over the world are expanding, too – jobs pay well enough to meet basic needs for people and their families and are rewarding for workers and investors. Trade and commerce flow to balance the rewards of work, innovation and investment for individuals and their countries.
Conflict remain in the world, but because tensions around basic resources have eased, the world is safer now, and we feel more secure as a result.
Clean, dependable and fast transportation networks are up and running.
A variety of clean energy sources meet peoples’ needs. As this clean energy is created, it is distributed where it’s needed through efficient energy networks from city to city and state to state from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
Ecologies are showing signs of renewal all over – many animals that might have vanished from the planet are healthy and reproducing, while plants and vegetation grow again in areas once stripped bare.
The seas are on the way to becoming a thriving whirlwind of life of many kinds.
Insects that carry pollen to fertilize crops and are the first link on the food chain are abundant.
Around American shores, coral reefs glow once again with life and vibrant activity.
Forests are home to plants and animals of a dizzying array, and mountains once again wear white crowns of snow in winter and green cloaks of forest in spring and summer.
Birds sing magnificently, loudly and often.
Waves crash on beaches thriving with life, and rivers like the Mississippi swell to bring nutrients to farmlands each year in rhythm to their natural flow.
A new dawn has broken in the hearts and minds of people of faith, each hearing the call of a Creator who gave humanity one last chance to prove that we COULD start a new chapter in the story of our presence on the planet.
In houses of worship all over the nation, people rejoice in finding ways to balance needs and desires and they think of the planet as a place in which they play the role of steward and caretaker.
The lives of all living things reflect the full expression of their gifts, their abilities and their presence on the planet.
A sense of fulfillment and accomplishment, of content and joy is present in every American because of what we’ve done in our homes, neighborhoods, towns, cities, states and nation.
Together, we led the world.
We’re happier, more secure and more fulfilled.
We made changes because we needed to, because we could, and because, well…it’s what Americans do.
The 2025 we see began to unfold in 2010…in the United States.
Citizens pushed for change…leaders listened and acted.
